Landslyde, one of Nashville’s hottest country music duos, invited me to hang out with them one night and practice my photography skills….

Blaze & Desiree are friends of mine at Trader Joe’s and i LOVE them, they are super sweet and have rockin voices.

They needed some updated promotional shots for their upcoming shows….what do you think?

Their next show is at the Listening Room on Feb 17th @ 8pm…they are awesome!

“My Desire”

You want to be real
You want to be empty inside
You want to be someone laying down your pride
You want to be someone someday
Then lay it all down before the King
You want to be whole
You want to have purpose inside
You want to have virtue and purify your mind
You want to be set free today then lay it all down before the

Chorus:
This is my desire
This is my return
This is my desire to be used by you

You want to be real
You want to be emptied inside
And I know my heart is to feel you near
And I know my life
It’s to do your will

It’s to do your will

Bridge:

All my life I have seen where you’ve taken me
Beyond all I have hoped and there’s more left unseen
There’s not much I can do to repay all you’ve done so I give my hands to use

-Jeremy Camp

I was talking to a great friend over the weekend. She was telling me that her pastor has been preaching about “breakthroughs”…people having breakthroughs in their lives, and that he feels 2008 will be a year of breakthroughs for many people. She told me that i’ve been on her mind…a lot. She’s been praying for me…this will be a year of breakthroughs for me. She feels it. I hope for it. She’s a true prayer warrior. And she is doing her very best to help make that happen. She’s a beautiful friend and i am grateful for her relationship….and also reminded that though i may still be waiting for my breakthrough, i have a strong support circle all around me. God is good.

Get excited because they are about to make a comeback! Here are the new kids all grown up in their latest promo shot.

Personally, i was always more of an NSYNC fan.

Did you have a favorite boy band growing up? Do tell. 🙂

I attended college at Union University, a small Southern Baptist school in TN, and while I was there my ears were opened even wider to the Christian music industry. Coming from the small and very liberal state of Vermont, Christian music isn’t really the talk of the town so beyond the latest praise songs, I never really followed many specific singers/groups. Ever since hearing the song “More Than You’ll Ever Know” by Watermark in college as a soundtrack to our sorority video, I was blown away. I couldn’t get enough of their music…their voices melded so well together and they wrote such simple yet profound songs. I still haven’t accepted that they aren’t making new music and hope that one day they will return!

I’ll admit that i don’t spend my days always thinking about how God is speaking to me through people or situations, but I do often find myself singing songs in my head repeatedly throughout the day, and wonder why that specific song is in my head. Lately, I’ve had one of my favorite Watermark songs, “A Grateful People/Bless the Lord” on repeat in my mind. It’s so simple, so true, and reminds me to be more grateful of the things I have because without Him…I have nothing.

It is time that we give you honor
This is the day to give you
All the praise that you deserve
Yes, it’s time to give you honor
This is the day to give you
All the praise that you deserve
A Holy King, of everything
Inhabit the praises of Your people
A Holy King, of everything
Inhabit the praises of Your people

Have we waited far too long to surrender
Forgive us Oh God the years
We failed to seek your face
Oh Lord, your mercy turns us into
Grateful people
We can’t seem to find the words
So take our lives that there might be enough
To tell you how grateful
Lord, we are grateful

Bless the Lord, oh my soul
(He has done great things)
And all that is within me
(He had done great things)
Bless His holy name
