February 2009

1. I sold some books and dvd’s today…made an easy $30.

2. Received a package in the mail from a good friend yesterday…it was just what my heart needed.

3. Diet Coke….when you don’t drink it very often, it’s even more delicious when you do.

4. Thunderstorms in the night.

5. Some of my tax refund already deposited into my account.

I just checked out Sproost after i saw it on Heather’s blog…i just love me some home design sites! Here are my results from the little quiz…

Your personal style is a mix of 3 specific styles:

43% Nantucket Style 29% Traditional Country 28% Classic

Nantucket Style: Oh how you love the beach! Who doesn’t, right? And so your dream home is either perched in your favorite beach town, or you’ve brought that favorite beach town into your house. Your art and accessories speak directly to the activities that are found at the beach. Pieces of driftwood you found here, pictures or paintings of the amazing views there. Things that remind you of the coast – surf boards or fishing boats – are found throughout the house. The feeling of the seaside is both abstract and literal in the design of your space. The fabrics are natural, cottons and linens and are light in color and touch. Much of the furniture is wood or wood framed (the lighter the better, think driftwood!) and wicker, when done right, is a must. And since your true inspiration is the sea, the colors and textures in your home are the same that you would find at your favorite beach: white, light beiges and grays of the sand and driftwood, a variety of blues for the ocean and sky, and greens and vibrant blues of the sea glass but the key is white! Your space should feel light and airy and give off the mood one has when at the beach: laid back! Your furniture is comfortable and the layout is cozy. The more it reminds you of actually sitting on the warm sand, the better! And what do you do at the beach? Hang out with family and friends – and your home is just an extension of this play place. And though the space is filled with large white furniture, it somehow manages to feel both durable and casual.

Check it out…then tell me the results of your quiz!

1. Steel cut oats with maple syrup and raisins.

2. American Idol season.

3. 70 degree weather today. Summer can’t come soon enough!

4. Dunkin Donuts coffee.

5. Emails from old friends.

1. The $25 cash i got from my dad in the mail today.

2. My TV Guide magazine that also came in the mail today.

3. The fact that i made the decision about whether or not to move back to VT.

4. The owl i saw in our driveway Sunday night when i got home. I’m still thinking about it, wondering where it is and what it does all day/night. I’m on an owl hunt.

5. Kraft Mac & Cheese…it’s what’s for dinner.

1. Urban Flats in downtown Nashvegas…lunch there after church and it was YUM!

2. We had 9 babies in our nursery room at church…to only 4 of us. I was in heaven!! The church is so big that it has the babies broken down by ability…so i work in one of the rooms that has babies who are newborn starting to crawl. Once they can crawl, they move up to another room of just crawling babies. Crazy eh?

3. Hallmark channel movies….so cheesy but so good.

4. My winter coat.

5. Sweet tea.

The lovely lady Brooke over at oh my seven, emailed me this little questionnaire that is making the rounds in the blogsphere….so a mere two weeks later i will answer her questions!

1.  If you could wear only one outfit for the rest of your life, what would you pick?  And why? Jeans, a t-shirt, flip-flops and a hooded sweatshirt. I really love wearing flip-flops when i have nicely manicured toes too!

2.  “Yes” is the answer.  What is the question? Am i addicted anything and everything to do with Hollywood and celebrities? YES! I follow all the major gossip sites, newspapers and watch the evening celeb news shows. I know as much about celebrities as most guys know about sports.

3.  If you could go back and change one thing about your life, what would it be?  Why?After knowing what i know now, i should have never moved out of Boston.  For the 2 years i lived there i didn’t think it was so great, but since Boston i have lived in NC and TN, and neither have worked out. Looking back, i had a great life in Boston and had i given it more time i think it would have only gotten even better….an apt a block from the ocean, much higher paying jobs, a good church, solid group of friends, and a roommate who didn’t annoy me. One day i’ll figure it out and learn from my mistakes!

4.  Which TV character do you most identify with? My first gut reaction to this question is Kitty Walker on “Brothers & Sisters”. I have no idea why, but i love her character and she just fascinates me.

5.  Are you a sweet or salty snacker?  What’s your favorite thing to munch on?I gravitate more often towards salty snacks….and if i could munch on anything it would be chips…chips of any kind! If I’m in the mood for something sweet, i usually reach for the ice cream. 🙂

There you be.
